This is a true story about one man`s life while serving in the Union Army from 1862 to 1864. He joined the 125th Regiment PA Infantry Volunteers, in his first term of 9 months. After being discharged in the spring of 1863, he found himself volunteering again after the Battle of Gettysburg. This time he would join with the 149th Regiment PA Infantry. In this outfit he would be in a unit of sharpshooters called the Buck Tails. Many of the occurrences described in this story were everyday life to the common soldier. This is a reflection of one who was there at those times and places.
