Civil War Exemption Records
These records are requests for exemptions or lists of soldiers who received exemptions from service in the Civil War. Some, such as Volume 2, Page 23, are a list of soldiers who received exemptions. However, many are the letters sent to request the exemption and include reasons for requesting the exemption.
You may use PayPal or your credit card to purchase Civil War Exemption Records. To purchase a reccord, refer to the information in the index below and fill in the Request blanks. Then add the record to your cart. If purchasing with a credit card, look for the credit card icons on the PayPal Cart page and click on `continue`. Please request Civil War Exemption Records for only one person per transaction.
You may also purchase Civil War Exemption Records by sending $5.00 per request with the name of the person, volume number and page number to BCHS. Be sure to include an email address and telephone number on all correspondence.
